Suneer Kumar

Suneer Kumar is a Partner at Alsuwaidi & Company, where he leads the corporate and commercial team. His practice focuses on Corporate Law, and he is active across sectors including government and quasi-government, real estate, technology, and oil and gas.

He advises national and international organisations on licensing, agency, distributorship and franchise matters. Suneer has incorporated over 250 different entities in free zones, onshore and offshore for individuals, multinational corporations and juridical persons. He is involved in the restructuring of companies in various jurisdictions and has significant transactional experience, including assisting in the liquidation of companies in the UAE.

He is legal advisor to several prominent family conglomerates with diversified business activities in the UAE and beyond, and supports national and multinational companies on UAE employment laws, regulatory frameworks and HR policies. He is a visiting professor at the University of Dubai, lecturing on UAE labour law.

Suneer obtained an LLM from the University of London and an MCIArb from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK. He also holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Calicut, and an LLB and LLM from the University of Bombay. He is a member of the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and is fluent in Hindi, Malayalam and English.
