Masood Khan

Masood Khan is an Of Counsel in the Corporate department at Al Tamimi & Company, based in Dubai International Financial Centre, focusing on Corporate Law. He joined the firm in 2014.

Since joining Al Tamimi & Company, Masood has been involved in various corporate due diligences; advised on optimal acquisition structures; prepared transaction documents for share acquisitions of corporate entities in UAE mainland and the free zones, including share acquisition agreements and business acquisition agreements; advised clients on shareholders arrangements and preparing shareholders and joint venture agreements; advised on UAE corporate laws and regulations including regulatory strategies and compliance structuring and restructuring; and counselled clients on company and branch formations. His clients in the region include private equity firms, companies and high-net-worth individuals.

Prior to joining Al Tamimi & Company, Masood had over three years of experience in corporate commercial, banking and finance and public private partnership matters at Haidermota & Company, a premier law firm in Pakistan.

His recent experience includes advising a well-renowned global software and electronics group on a regional demerger and restructuring of its group of companies based in the Middle East; drafting corporate implementing regulations and operating rules for various free zones in the UAE; acquisitions of pharmaceutical companies, insurance companies, manufacturing and trading entities, groups of restaurants and groups of clinics based in the UAE; advising a global engineering, environmental and strategic consultancy group on constructing and implementing optimal corporate structures to acquire the assets and business of a well-renowned group of entities in the UAE; advising a well-renowned global computer and electronics group on more than four demergers and restructurings of its group of companies in the UAE; advising a global energy specialist group on its joint venture with a local conglomerate for manufacturing, assembling and selling medium voltage and low voltage equipment and energy automation solutions in the region, including drafting and negotiating the joint venture documents; advising a private aviation company on diverse corporate matters including restructuring and merger; and advising a global leader in online remarketing and automotive IT solutions on its joint venture with a regional conglomerate for the online remarketing and automotive information technology solutions business in the UAE.

His practice areas are corporate structuring and corporate services, with his sector being healthcare and life sciences. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of London (2010) and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Forman Christian College (2007). He was admitted to the Punjab Bar Council as an Advocate in 2013, to the Punjab High Court as an Advocate in 2023, and to the Senior Courts of England and Wales as a Solicitor in 2023. He speaks English and Urdu.
