Uzair Bulbulia

Uzair Bulbulia is an Associate in the Corporate team at Al Tamimi & Company, based in Dubai International Financial Centre, focusing on Mergers and Acquisitions. He covers mergers and acquisitions, general transactional and advisory work, and anti-trust advice.

He has represented a diverse portfolio of clients, including both local and international entities across various jurisdictions and industries. Prior to joining the firm’s Dubai office, Uzair gained experience at Norton Rose Fulbright in South Africa.

His recent experience includes assisting a restaurant chain on the reorganisation of its business operations and on the acquisition of a restaurant business in the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; assisting a waste management entity on its reorganisation and sale of its business across the UAE; assisting a prominent hotel group on the disposal of its business in Dubai; assisting a South African state-owned company on the negotiation of a share purchase agreement and managing the suspensive condition process; assisting a New Zealand-based technology company on the acquisition of shares in a South African company specialising in reporting, insights and analytics; assisting a French multinational dairy products corporation on the acquisition of a creamer business in South Africa; assisting a manufacturer of agricultural machinery in South Africa on the sale of its entire shareholding; acting for a leading life insurer on its exit in Botswana and Zambia; and assisting a leading petroleum company in the United Kingdom on the negotiation of a supply and management agreement for fuel storage and into-plane fuelling facilities at Cape Town International Airport.

He has also conducted legal due diligence investigations on restaurant businesses in the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and KSA, a leading production company in the UAE, an energy and petroleum entity in Botswana and South Africa, and companies in the wheat and maize and sugar industries across Mauritius, Mozambique, South Africa and Zimbabwe. He has prepared and advised on merger filings in the jewellery, hotel, steel and restaurant industries in Dubai, and advised leading insurance companies on buy-side and sell-side warranty and indemnity insurance policies.

His practice areas are corporate structuring, commercial, and corporate / mergers and acquisitions. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Insurance and Risk Management and Law (2017) and a Bachelor of Laws (2019) from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. He is admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa and is registered with the Dubai Legal Affairs Department.
