Shiraz Sethi

Shiraz Sethi is a Partner at Dentons, serving as the regional head of employment in the Middle East, specializing in Employment Law. He has more than 14 years of experience working on contentious and non‑contentious employment matters, advising multinational clients across technology, media and telecommunications, professional services, financial services, insurance, and energy sectors.

Shiraz provides advice on all aspects of employment law, including recruitment, termination, benefits, restrictive covenants, team moves, and complex workplace investigations, as well as matters involving fraud, bribery, corruption, and employee misconduct. He has been retained by the Chief Justice of the DIFC Courts to draft the first commentary on the DIFC Employment Law, and subsequently by the Chief Legal Officer of the DIFC Authority to draft the new DIFC Employment Law. He also advised on the drafting of COVID‑19 regulations for the DMCC and was retained by JAFZA to review and revise its entire employment ecosystem. He has advised on fraud and embezzlement investigations, restrictive covenant enforceability for senior financial regulatory professionals, and regulatory settlements with the DFSA.

Shiraz holds a BSc in Economics & Law (Hons) from Brunel University (2004) and completed his Legal Practice Course with Commendation at BPP Law School (2005). He qualified as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 2008.
