Shaakir Daud

Shaakir Daud is a Senior Associate in the Banking and Finance team at Dentons in Dubai, specializing in Banking and Finance Law. He has over 6 years of experience advising both local and international financiers and borrowers on a wide range of banking matters, including acquisition financing, corporate financing, real estate financing, and general banking and finance.

Shaakir advises on conventional and Islamic finance transactions across a broad spectrum of sectors, with particular expertise in syndicated lending, ship finance, and large‑scale real estate and infrastructure financings. He has been involved in numerous landmark transactions in the UAE and across the MENA region, including advising on a €300 million Murabaha financing for Hayat Kimya, a landmark AED 3 billion real estate financing, an AED 760 million secured facility for Al Seer Marine, and a landmark Shari'a‑compliant syndicated ship financing for the construction of three new VLGCs. Prior to joining Dentons, he worked for a silver circle firm in Dubai and previously practiced in London advising on general banking.

He holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Lancaster (2009) and completed his Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School (2010). He qualified as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 2017.
