Pay Wen Lee

Pay Wen Lee is an Associate at Habib Al Mulla, based in the United Arab Emirates. Her practice focuses on Arbitration and Mediation, specialising in complex construction arbitrations and commercial disputes.

Pay Wen is a common law qualified lawyer with 9+ years of post-qualification experience, admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 2017, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and an Adjudicator empanelled with the AIAC.

She has expertise in matters under the DIFC, ADGM and Malaysian courts, as well as arbitrations under DIAC, ADCCAC, AIAC, CIETAC and ad-hoc rules. Notably, she has represented a multinational developer from PRC China as lead counsel, conducting her own advocacy in the Construction High Court, in a case that received significant media coverage.

She speaks four languages fluently – English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay – and has lived and worked in Beijing, Malaysia and Dubai, bringing deep cultural understanding to cross-border disputes and transactions. She holds an LLM in International Commercial Law and an LLB (Honours) from Northumbria University, UK.
