Patrick Loughran

Patrick Loughran is a Senior Associate in the Middle East Construction and Dispute Resolution practice, specializing in Dispute Resolution. He is a qualified solicitor advocate with full rights of audience before all civil courts in England and Wales, and has represented clients in arbitrations under the ICC, DIAC, and ADCCAC rules.

Patrick advises employers, contractors, developers, and project companies on complex construction projects, including large‑scale infrastructure and mixed‑use retail developments. He has experience bringing and defending claims relating to delay and disruption, payment disputes, contractual interpretation, defective design and/or workmanship, site conditions, and variations, and has drafted, negotiated, and advised on FIDIC, NEC, and JCT contracts. He also assists on a wide range of commercial disputes, including breach of contract, intellectual property infringement, and enforcement of arbitral awards both locally and internationally. In addition, he works in the compliance and investigations team on large‑scale cross‑border regulatory investigations and risk‑based compliance programmes across industries such as logistics, hospitality, banking, pharmaceuticals, and technology.

He holds a BA (English Literature) and a Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of Sussex (2008, 2013), and completed his Legal Practice Course at the University of Law, Guildford (2015). He is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales.
