Dr. Omar Al Azawe

Dr. Omar Al Azawe is Of Counsel in the firm's Litigation and Legislative Drafting practices, based in the Abu Dhabi office, practicing in Dispute Resolution. He has over 20 years of experience in litigation, legislative drafting, and representing clients in the UAE.

He has participated in drafting legal studies on UAE legislation and preparation of laws and regulations as a member of legislative teams with governmental bodies and the private sector, and provides clients with legislative amendments to existing laws. He advises and represents companies and health entities in disputes and litigation before courts and arbitration tribunals, and advises government authorities on administrative cases involving pensions, civil services, and legislative studies. He also has experience in restructuring holding companies, subsidiaries, and drafting related agreements.

He holds a Ph.D. in Private Law from the College of Law, University of Sharjah (2018), a Master of Private Law from Baghdad University (2002), and a Bachelor of Laws from Baghdad University (1997). He is admitted to the Emirates Association for Lawyers and Legal in Abu Dhabi and the Iraqi Bar Association.
