Daniel Brawn

Daniel Brawn is Of Counsel in the Dubai office, practicing in the firm's Arbitration and Mediation and Construction practice. He holds higher rights of audience at the DIFC Courts and has extensive knowledge of the construction industry from both contentious and non-contentious perspectives, advising landowners, developers, contractors, purchasers, and funders on development projects of all sizes.

On the contentious side, Mr. Brawn focuses particularly on arbitration, and is well-regarded for his knowledge of technical disputes, drafting pleadings, and advising on breach of contract claims, extensions of time, liquidated damages, and delay and prolongation issues. He regularly drafts and negotiates contracts, conducts due diligence, and provides advocacy and enforcement advice. Prior to qualifying as a lawyer, he worked in the construction industry for several years, giving him valuable insider knowledge.

Daniel holds a BA Honours in Law from the University of Greenwich (1995), was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1996, and was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales in 2001. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Arbitration Practice and Procedure (1999), is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Chartered Arbitrator (2002), and was awarded a PhD from Manchester University in 2005. He has published learned articles and lectured extensively on construction and arbitration subjects.
