Amro Hassan

Amro Hassan is a Senior Associate in the Litigation practice in Dubai. His primary practice area is Commercial Litigation.

He specialises in handling real estate, civil and commercial disputes before all courts and special committees of the UAE. He also has particular expertise in relation to enforcement and nullification proceedings of arbitration awards.

In addition, he has experience in real estate arbitration disputes and is well versed with the DIAC and ADCCAC arbitration rules. He is a member of the DIAC40 – Young Practitioners Group.

Prior to joining Al Tamimi, he worked for four years as an Associate in the arbitration and litigation departments of two leading law firms in the UAE, where he represented local and multinational companies in several contentious and non-contentious real estate and commercial matters.

His recent experience includes advising and acting for a well-known medical institution in the UAE in a complex multi-million dirham medical malpractice claim brought before the Dubai Courts; acting for a Kuwaiti-owned real estate company in the enforcement and nullification proceedings of an AED 30 million DIAC arbitral award against a major UAE public joint stock company before the Dubai Rental Disputes Settlement Centre; working on advising an international law firm acting for the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq in the DIFC Court proceedings brought by Pearl & Others in relation to the issue of "state immunity" under UAE laws; and representing several investors and employers in construction claims before the UAE Courts and in arbitration proceedings.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sharjah (2013) and completed the IICL Certificate Program on International Commercial Law and International Alternative Dispute Resolution at Pace University – Elisabeth Haub School of Law (2014). He speaks Arabic and English.
