Wael Elgouhari

Wael Elgouhari is Of Counsel in the Transport & Insurance team at Al Tamimi & Company, based in Dubai International Financial Centre, focusing on Maritime Law. He has many years of experience advising on shipping and aviation.

He has particular expertise in cargo claims, B/Ls related disputes, logistics, charter-parties, cargo mis-delivery claims, maritime and land transport.

Wael also specialises in aviation liability practice, with a focus on defending airlines and their insurers. He mainly assists airlines in baggage, cargo and personal injury claims, and his major clients in the UAE include Emirates and Dnata.

Prior to joining Al Tamimi & Company, he worked with a UAE law firm with particular exposure to criminal, breach of trust and bounced cheque cases. He also worked as in-house legal counsel at a multinational company in the oil and gas sector in Qatar, and has experience in both contentious and non-contentious matters.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Essex, UK (2019) and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Mansoura University, Egypt (2006). He was admitted as a lawyer in Egypt in 2020 and speaks Arabic and English.
