Riaz Haq

Riaz Haq is a Senior Associate in the corporate team at Dentons in Dubai, specializing in Mergers and Acquisitions. He focuses on M&A, corporate and restructuring transactions, joint ventures, and general corporate advisory matters, including distribution and franchise matters.

Riaz has significant experience in the Middle East and North Africa region, representing corporate and private equity clients on acquisitions, disposals, mergers, and reorganizations. Notable matters include advising on the sale of a digital wallet company based in KSA and the UAE; advising Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) and the Ministry of Energy and Minerals on a complete restructuring of the Block 6 Concession and the establishment of Energy Development Oman SAOC; advising KPS Capital Partners LP on its global acquisition of Lufkin Rod Lift Solutions from Baker Hughes; advising a leading UAE district cooling provider on the acquisition of district cooling assets in Oman; and advising a Japanese investment bank on its acquisition of a stake in a company listed on the Muscat Stock Exchange.

Riaz holds a B.A. (Honours) from Queen Mary University of London (2001), a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from The College of Law, London (2002), an LPC from The College of Law (2003), and an LL.M (Merit) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (2004). He qualified as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 2010.
