Merline Dsouza

Merline Dsouza is a Senior Associate at Alsuwaidi & Company, based in the Dubai office, practicing in Arbitration and Mediation. She is an international dispute resolution lawyer with over 12 years of experience in arbitration and litigation in complex, high-value commercial, construction, and maritime disputes across the region.

She regularly represents and advises individual and corporate clients in proceedings under leading institutional rules, including DIAC, ICC, LCIA, ADCCAC, SIAC, and ad-hoc arbitration proceedings under the UNCITRAL rules, as well as before the DIFC, ADGM, and UAE Courts. Her practice also includes disputes arising from force majeure events and other unforeseen circumstances affecting contractual performance, and extends to complex criminal and quasi-criminal matters including cybercrime, corporate fraud, forgery, embezzlement, breach of trust, extradition, and medical negligence.

Merline holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from Karnataka State Law University, India. She is fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi, and Kannada.
