Reem Faqihi

Reem Faqihi is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution team at the DIFC office of Al Tamimi & Company. She advises and represents clients across various jurisdictions in complex commercial matters, including contract breaches, shareholder issues, joint venture conflicts, and financial and regulatory issues.

She has experience acting for clients at all stages of litigation and arbitration, from pre-action advisory work and urgent interim relief to the full conduct of proceedings. She also advises on settlement strategies and assists in negotiations in complex matters. Prior to joining Al Tamimi, she practised at an international law firm in Bahrain and Dubai, gaining experience in regional and cross-border disputes.

Her recent experience includes acting for a UAE-based cryptocurrency trading platform in a claim against a DFSA-regulated investment bank for damages arising from the loss of 300 Bitcoins before the DIFC Courts, and acting for a UAE investment company in an AED 800 million+ joint venture dispute in LCIA arbitrations with related court proceedings in Singapore and the DIFC Courts.

She has also worked on multi-billion dollar cross-border disputes arising from the administration and liquidation of a Bahrain-based bank, defended an insurance brokerage firm in the Qatar International Court against mis-selling claims, and acted for a listed regional bank in English Court proceedings.

She holds an LPC and MSc in Law, Business and Management from the University of Law, UK (2017) and a Law LLB (Hons) from the University of Surrey, UK (2016). She was admitted in England and Wales in 2021 and speaks Arabic and English.
