Nileena Alexander

Nileena Alexander is an Associate with the Digital & Data team at Al Tamimi & Company, based in Abu Dhabi. Her practice focuses on Technology Law, providing advice on all technology, media and telecommunications matters.

Nileena supports clients on technology transactions, data protection regulations, procurement and software licensing agreements, media and advertising, telecommunications, and e-commerce and electronic transaction regulations.

Her recent experience includes developing a legal registry compiling all legal compliance requirements for the region's first unified online health information exchange and a leading bank entering into a partnership with the government organisation responsible for licensing businesses in the UAE; drafting diligence reports for the acquisition of a leading telecommunications company in the UAE and the IPO of a government-owned entity in the UAE; drafting advice on the legal implications of broadcasting sporting events in the UAE for the highest governing body of football; conducting Data Transfer Impact Assessments for various jurisdictions in the UAE, including federal, DIFC and ADGM, to determine the adequacy of protection for GDPR; and drafting and reviewing privacy policies, data sharing agreements, master services agreements, consultancy agreements and terms and conditions for sweepstakes.

She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Cornell University (2020) and a Bachelor of Business Administration and Law (BBA.LL.B.) from Christ University (2017). She was admitted as an Attorney in New York, United States in 2022 and as an Advocate in Kerala, India in 2017. She speaks English, Hindi and Malayalam.
