Neil Cuthbert

Neil Cuthbert is a Senior Legal Advisor at Dentons in Dubai, specializing in Infrastructure Law. He has over 40 years' experience advising banks, governments, borrowers, and sponsors on project financing transactions across oil and gas, electricity, water, mining, leisure, transportation, and telecommunications, and has been based in Dubai since 2001.

Neil's practice covers a wide range of project and infrastructure financings, as well as general banking including lending, structured finance, derivatives, trade finance, development finance, and restructurings. He has lectured extensively on project finance at the Euromoney Winter and Summer Schools and is the author of the firm's Standard Introduction to Project Finance. He served as head of the Dubai office (2001–2010), Managing Partner of the Middle East offices (2005–2011), and was a member of the Dentons Global Board (2011–2015).

Neil holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Exeter (1975) and qualified as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 1979.

He has been consistently recognised as a leading practitioner, ranked in Band 1 for Projects and Energy by Chambers Global, and listed in IFLR1000, Who's Who Legal, Best Lawyers, and Euromoney's Expert Guides for Project Finance and Banking.
