Laura Hecht

Laura Hecht is a Senior Associate at Al Tamimi & Company in Abu Dhabi, focusing on Real Estate Law. She has 17 years PQE experience, 15 of which have been in Abu Dhabi, and is admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales and Scotland.

Laura has considerable experience advising leading master developers and government-related entities on some of the most high-profile real estate projects in the UAE.

She regularly advises on a broad range of real estate matters, from the acquisition of freehold and other forms of property interests, to advising owners and occupiers of all types of leased property, as well as advising operators and owners on their high-profile hospitality projects.

Her recent experience includes advising Modon Properties on its flagship Hudayriyat Island; advising a high-profile government-related entity on the acquisition and development of a world-class US$1 billion, 23 million sqm master planned community in Abu Dhabi; acting for an investment purchaser on real estate aspects of a joint venture agreement, including advice on usufruct and musataha rights, registration aspects and due diligence; and advising a Mubadala and Gulf Related joint venture entity on the sub-letting and operation of “The Galleria” at Al Maryah Island.

She also acted for a government body on a property management agreement and leasing services agreement for a large property development, and drafted a suite of standard form lease agreements for occupational tenants of commercial office space.

Laura holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Glasgow (2002) and a Diploma in Legal Practice from Glasgow Graduate School of Law (2004). She speaks English.
