Ivor McGettigan

Ivor McGettigan is a Partner and Head of Education at Al Tamimi & Company, based in Abu Dhabi and the Dubai International Financial Centre. His practice focuses on Employment Law.

Ivor is a Partner in the Employment Department and has advised employers on all aspects of the employment relationship, including contracts of employment, drafting of policies, disciplinary proceedings, rationalisation programmes and termination agreements.

He has particular experience in advising semi-governmental clients, drafting free zone employment regulations and advising on the Federal Human Resources Law and the Abu Dhabi Human Resources Law.

His recent clients include Abu Dhabi Development Holding (ADQ), Abu Dhabi Global Market Free Zone Authority, Abu Dhabi Investment Council (ADIC), Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dolphin Energy, Electricite De France (EDF), Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, Emirates Global Aluminium, Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, Mubadala, Tamkeen (New York University Abu Dhabi), TAQA (Abu Dhabi National Energy Company), TII (Technology Innovation Institute) and Zayed University.

He holds a BA (Hons) from University College Dublin, a Diploma in Arbitration from University College Dublin and a Diploma in Employment Law from the Law Society of Ireland. He was admitted as a Solicitor in Ireland in 1998 and as a Solicitor in England & Wales in 2010. He speaks English.
