Clive DSouza

Clive DSouza is an Associate at Al Tamimi & Company in Abu Dhabi, focusing on Health Care Law. He joined the firm as an intern in 2019 and joined the Corporate & Commercial department in Abu Dhabi full time as a paralegal in 2021, primarily assisting the lawyers on the Regulatory, Healthcare and Life Sciences team in the UAE and across the wider region.

Clive assists lawyers on the team with matters involving both foreign and local private and government clients. These include the regulatory compliance of products being imported into the region against local and internationally approved standards, and assisting stakeholders within the healthcare sector to comply with UAE healthcare law, circulars, policies, guidance and standards set by federal and emirate level government departments and sector regulatory bodies.

His recent experience includes assisting on a product recall campaign in the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and KSA for a major smartwatch manufacturer; advising FMCG companies on product registration and standards implemented by the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology; assisting a major Abu Dhabi hospital client in creating a legal update register of federal and emirate level laws, regulations, policies and circulars; and advising major global pharmaceutical companies on legislative compliance, promotional advertising and marketing requirements.

He has also assisted in advising major global corporations on COVID-19 restrictions and data protection requirements, and private investors on environment, health, safety and procurement laws in relation to acquisitions in the UAE.

Clive holds a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Symbiosis Law School, Pune, India (2019), and was admitted to the Bar Council of India in 2021. He speaks English and Hindi.
